Founder and Lead Engineer
Sankaran has worked as a software engineer since 2008: at Infosys in India, then — after a master’s degree in applied computer science in Heidelberg — at Deutsche Börse, the German stock exchange, at SAP, and most recently as Senior Software Engineer at Unblu, a Swiss vendor of conversational-banking software. Alongside engineering he completed an MBA at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
He leads every Monolith engagement personally: architecture, review, and the written assessments you receive. He has delivered software for large companies in Germany and the USA; those projects are under NDA and are not named here.

How the team works
Monolith is deliberately small. The founder is the technical counterpart on every project and reviews every significant change. Implementation capacity comes from a team of engineers in India who work in CET-overlapping hours in the same repositories, pipelines and chat channels as you.
We tell you this on the first page because it matters to how we price and how we work: senior judgement where it counts, capacity where it scales, and no account manager between you and the people building your system.

Why “Monolith”?
A monolith is a single, solid piece of stone — the opposite of a pile of loosely connected parts. That is what well-built business software should feel like to the people who use it, whatever the architecture underneath. We are aware that the word is shared by many companies and products; in writing we use “Monolith Software, Basel” to avoid confusion.
